Here’s a few updates as i’ve been wrestling with ideas for the past year or two. First things first. You’ve probably noticed a makeover. I want my site to look less like a blog and more like a website. Since my writing is so scarce, I don’t want to give the wrong impression that blogging is the primary purpose of the site. It’s not. My site is intended to be a resource rather than a place to keep updated on various items. I’ll be continuing changes as I move forward and I welcome any suggestions you might have. Since it’s a WordPress.com site, the sky is not the limit in terms of customization.
Second, i’m going to be changing my domain to http://www.michaeljfelker.com really soon. I won’t bore you with all the reasons, but let’s just say that I made some expensive mistakes in getting my domain registered and some more expensive mistakes when I switched over from Blogspot. The only reasonable solution was to do away with Apologetic Front and register my domain with WordPress. Since i’m already paying for this site annually, I might as well go through them with my domain to save money. With that said, I just like the idea better of using my name rather than some kind of website title. Plus, I never really liked Apologetic Front and i’ve never been great at thinking of names.
Third, i’ve been experimenting with audio/video and utterly failing. I watch and listen to my past video and podcast attempts and I just can’t justify putting material out at that quality. So that’s why you haven’t seen much from me lately (in addition to the fact that I don’t have much free time). But now, i’ve got a pretty nice video camera, green screen, mics, and the best software possible. Now, it’s just a matter of trial and error before I can put out something that i’m proud of and can put my name on. Why settle for anything less?
Last, while I will continue to put out material related to Jehovah’s Witnesses, that will not be the only subject I cover. Islam, Mormonism, and Catholicism have equally confronted me of late. But I still have quite a bit of studying to do in these areas before I feel comfortable enough posting material and subjecting it to scrutiny. There’s so much misinformed noise out there on the internet and I don’t want to stoop to that level.
